Ah yes iPhone … although it has no 3G I guess I get me one when they are out. Hopefully they come to Austria too, not only to Germany.

Currently the Bit/Cent fee here in Austria is ridiculously high – guess all the bits flying through mobile nets here are made of gold with some diamonds sticked on ‘em …

Regarding privacy I have to agree with linuxchic. Some people tend to be too stupid regarding social networks.
I am on the net since hmm 1995 or so and since day one I am aware that all I publish (even this very comment) here is PUBLICLY AVAILABLE. So I care on my texts.
Only thing might be tell that to the youngsters… So they don’t need to be ashamed when the look on their “work” ten years after – just look @ myspace for some examples.

You were right Linuxchic the DMCA does not apply to the people unlocking their iPhones. AT&T also has a provision in their contract that allows people to get the unlock code for their phone after they have been with AT&T for 90 days. I’m not a lawyer but I listen to LOTS of legal podcast. Catch the latest episode of This Week in Law, nine I think, and they go into it a little bit.
As an aside, I’m waiting for the next gen iPhone because it is rumored to have 3G capability.
