In the show, you say that "If they don't do something to defend their property, they lose the rights to it" in regard to the SCO and UNIX properties.

That only applies to trademarks, such as the UNIX trademark. Any implementation associated with that mark is protected under copyright, and should be safe. I don't think purchers believe that UNIX as a trademark carries any weight, simply because it has no meaning. POSIX means something more specific than UNIX, and it's value is derived from being independently verifiable.

Remember that most of SCO's complaint was copyright, related to RCX and other unspecified voodoo.

Great show! I just listened cos there was some Grouply drama on some of the yahoo lists I'm on, and, well, I wanted to do some independent research as to what Grouply actually *is* rather than fall for all of those bizarre Y!Amswers and other fear-mongering blog posts. And I now find out about Swurl! I'm loving Grouply so far and checking out Swurl right now. Stay excellent -- this is definitely going on my list of podcasts now. :-)
