Create a Custom Linux Network Install Image
Need to install 20 linux servers with an identical image? Maybe you just want to be able to take a vacation and leave your backup admin with a way out should something blow up.
The custom system builder at Instalinux can help you do just this.
Walk through the wizard and input your hostname, network settings, select the distro of choice as well as geographical repository preferences.
Select packages then configure your disk. You can use the simple configuration or the advanced method (simple shown below).
Pick your passwords and accounts and away you go. You get a bootable ISO that is 30 MB or less and suitable for a CDR or a USB pen drive (you must specify this at the start of the wizard).
The Instalinux site includes instructions for setting up a linux image in a VM with VMware player for those of you who just want to test it out.
